It is with heavy hearts, the family of Ronald Arthur Ferguson wish to announce his passing on January 16, 2024 at Bobby’s Hospice with his family by his side. Ronald was born in Saint John, N.B in 1939, he was the son of the late Henry Ferguson and Kathleen (Stinson) Donner and stepson of James Donner. He was the husband of Nancy Blanche (Green) Ferguson.

Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife; Nancy, three children; Brenda Kathleen (David) MacGorman, of Saint John, Ronald Richard (Nicole) Ferguson, of Grand Bay, Robert George (Christa) Ferguson, of Saint John, six grandchildren; Richard Clinton Ronald (Emily Shiels) MacGorman, Ronald Andru (Rachel Jefferson) Ferguson, Jessie Ann Ferguson, Russell Andrew Ferguson, Lucas Robert Ferguson, and Lacy Cayla Ferguson, nieces, nephews, and his special furry companion, Pearl. He is predeceased by his parents; Henry Ferguson and Kathleen Donner, his stepfather; James Donner, and his sister, Wanda Bonnell.

He was a compassionate, loving family man, and loyal friend to many, who had an insatiable passion for reading. His favourite magazine was “Fur Fish and Game”, being a loyal subscriber for decades. Known as the “Legend” to his grandchildren, he was a true outdoorsman who lived for the journey and was willing to share his knowledge with anyone.

He retired from Irving Pulp & Paper as a shift Supervisor after 37 years. He and Nancy enjoyed spending their retirement years together in Florida during the winters. His favourite place was at New Smyrna Beach where he would spend countless hours out on the pier fishing.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sean Keyes, DrAimee Noël, Extra- Mural, and staff at Bobby’s Hospice for the kind and exceptional care they gave our dad.

The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506-634-1701).
