Obituary of Mary Goss

Goss, Mary Evelyn With sadness, the family announces the passing of Mary E.(Hovey) Goss, widow of her 1st husband the late Ronald T. Ervin, and her 2nd husband Abram Y.Goss on April 12, 2012. Born in Saint John, Mary was a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary(King)Hovey. Mary worked in her earlier years at Canada Packers before becoming a full time stay at home mom, after the children were grown she re-entered the work force as an operator with NB Tel and finally retired in 1993 after 20 years of service. During her life she belonged to the Lancaster Rifle and Pistol Association, the Beaus and Belles SquareDance Club,Martha and Mary's,the mothers union,NB Tel Pioneers,the seniors bowling league, and Tai Chi. Mary was very active in her church, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.She was also a life member of the Loyalist Club(Heart Pillows). Mary was predeceased by brothers,Calvin,Irvine, Austin, Charles, Edmund,and Edward, as well as sisters Violet Sheriff, and Lily Balena. Mary is survived by 3 daughters, Deborah(Tony) Garvin, of Oromocto, Gayle(Charlie)Duquesne, of Oromocto, and Lori Ewart(Greg Sullivan),of Saint John, five grandchildren, Jennifer(Kevin)Aitchison, Joshua(Kyla)Duquesne, Nicole(Steven)Reynolds,Jessica Duquesne,and Kimberly Ewart, six great grandchildren, Cyan and Evelynn Aitchison, Cole Garvin, Graciana Reynolds,Ryker and Cullen Duquesne,sisters, Alma Palmer, and Joan MacDougall, brothers, Melvin, Victor, Ward, and Douglas Hovey, and several nieces and nephews, brothers and sister Inlaws. Following Cremation, visitation will be held at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster ave. Saint John West on Wednesday 2to4 pm and 7to9 pm. The funeral will be held on Thursday April 19,2012 at 11:00am at St. Georges Anglican Church. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Rememberances can be made to Meals on Wheels, St. Georges Church fund, Extra Mural, or charity of donors choice.
