Obituary of Ruby Whittaker

Whittaker (Galbraith) Howe, Ruby Frances – The death of Ruby occurred at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday July 26, 2016. Born on August 28, 1929 at Central Blissville, NB she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Agnes (Baird) Howe. Ruby will be sadly missed by husband Donald Whittaker and sons Albert (Karen) Galbraith, Wayne (Faith) Galbraith, Bruce Galbraith; daughters Beverly Blagden (Richard Morton), Pamela (Darryl Goodine), Sandra (Kenneth Durning); brothers Douglas (Jeannine) Howe, George (Joan) Howe, Eldon (Lora) Howe, Donald Roberts; Sisters Bernice Murphy, Ida Spragg, Mary Boone, Marion (Howard) Harris, Helen (David), Vaughan, Nellie (Hans) Schmidt. She has 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; several nieces, cousins and many friends Ruby is predeceased by her husband Alonzo Galbraith, son Peter, Sisters Margarite Whittaker and Della Shea, also step mother Bessie (Roberts) Howe. A resident of Lorneville for over 40 years and member of United Church of Canada, after moving to Grand Bay a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church, Hoyt. She enjoyed the old Hymns and cooking for family and friends. Special thanks to RVW and staff of Saint Joseph’s Hospital. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Thursday July 28, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday July 29, 2016 at 4:00 pm from Castle Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Lorneville Cemetery. Donations in Ruby’s memory can be made to Lorneville Cemetery.
