Obituary of Thomas Anthony Kearney

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Thomas Anthony Kearney which occurred on Tuesday December 23, 2014 at his residence. Born in Ireland he was the son of the late Charles and Mai Kearney. Thomas worked many years at the sugar refinery in Saint John, before retiring with the City of Saint John. He will be missed by loving wife Margaret (Cochrane) Kearney; daughter Brenda (Bruce) Kearney-Gogan of Saint John, NB; brother Brendan (Gillian) of England; sisters Sr. Baptist "Breda" Kearney and Elsie (Patrick “Patti) Fingleton both of England; grandchildren Ryan, Stacia, Stephen, Maria, Kathryn; special niece Christine; and several other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Thomas was predeceased by brothers Charles and Jim; sister Margaret (Peggy) Carson. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitations will be held on Sunday December 28, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 6:00-8:00 p.m., and Monday December 29, 2013 from 10:00a.m.-12noon. A memorial service will follow on Monday Dec. 29, 2014 at 12noon from Castle Funeral Home. Donations in Thomas’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice, Children’s Wish Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice.
