Obituary of Ann Carter

Ann Bell Carter went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Saturday March 4, 2017 at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB. Born August 15, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Steen) Thompson. Ann volunteered with different ministries and organizations throughout the years such as Hillcrest Baptist Church, NB Heart Ace support group, Meals on Wheels, Saint John Regional Hospital, Sunshine Club and ladies Bible study groups. She was also one of the founders of the Westside Food Bank. Ann will be forever loved and remembered by sons Doug (Pat) Carter of Ottawa, ON, Fred (Cheryl) Carter of Greenwood, NS, Bill (Judy) Carter of Clandonald, AB; daughters Betty Ann (Gerry) Taylor of Fredericton, NB, Debbie Carter of Kingsley, NB; brother Bill (Helen) Thompson of Fergus, ON; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Ann was predeceased by loving husband Doug Carter; 3 brothers and 1 grandsonAnn’s family would like to express appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Pine Grove Nursing Home for their excellent compassion and care given to our Mother.Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 7, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. A Celebration of Ann’s life will be held from Hillcrest Baptist Church on Wednesday March 8, 2017 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Ann’s memory are requested to be made to Bobby’s Hospice or Pine Grove Nursing Home.
