Murphy, Constance Marion Louise Surrounded by her loving family, the death of Connie (Thorne) Murphy, wife of the late Frank Patrick Murphy occurred on June 27, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on October 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Richard “Dick and Myrtle Elsie (Pike) Thorne. Connie was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. She loved harness racing at EPR and was a great fan of the Montreal Canadiens hockey team. However, the love of her life was her family. Connie is survived by her son Peter Ross of Mississauga, Ont., 4 daughters; Margaret Anne Ross, Karen Louise (Don) Legere, Nancy Anne (Richard) McGuire, Susan Mary (Philip) Duffley, all of Saint John, 4 brothers; Eugene (Barb) Thorne, Philip (Carol) Thorne, David (Sandra) Thorne, Leslie (Lorna) Thorne, 3 sisters; June Goss, Carole (William) Gray, Nancy(James) Levine, all of Saint John, 7 grandchildren; Amy Marie Brewer, Terri Lee Dawn Legere, Donna Michelle Legere, Jennifer Leigh Ross, Sean Patrick McGuire, Corey James McGuire, and Keegan Mitchell Duffley, 2 great-grandchildren Ruby and Abby. Besides her parents, and husband Frank, she was predeceased by 2 brothers William and Richard Thorne, and 2 sisters Shirley Adams and Norma Sambles. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634 -1701) with visiting on Tuesday from 2 -4 and 7 – 9 pm. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12 noon at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. Following the interment a reception will take place at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. Donations in memory of Connie to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Hospice, or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by her family.
