Obituary of Muriel Fay Short

Muriel Fay Short passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 25, 2017. Born in West Saint John on Dec 04, 1939 she was the daughter of the late Alan and Edna (Dobson) Mason. Survived by two Sons Tony Short (Teresa) of Moncton, Gary Short (Cathy) of Saint John, daughter Tanya Belyea (Thomas) of Glenwood, and seven grandchildren and a great grandchild. Brothers Gene (late Hilda) and Gary Mason (Kevin); sisters Abbie (Ron) Brown and Dianne "Honey" (late Jim) Summerville. Besides her parents and husband, Muriel was predeceased by infant son Maynard; brothers Joe (sister-in-law Myrna) and Jack. Sisters Lorna Flowers and June (brother-in-law Dick) Thorne. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 10:00am – 11:00am at the Church of the Resurrection, River Valley Dr, (Just past the Irving) Grand Bay-Westfield. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am with Deacon Eleanor Dryden officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Church Hall adjacent to the Church and interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery on 1650 Manawagonish Road.
