Obituary of Victor "Eric" Mowbray

The death of Eric occurred on May 5, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on May 7, 1945, he was the husband of Dorothy "Dot” Toner, and the son of the late Leo "Murray" Mowbray and Constance Allan Lamb-Barton. He is also survived by 2 sons Michael Eric (Diana) of Barrie, Ontario, and Michael Glendon (Cindy) of Brown’s Flat, NB; 3 Daughters, Barbara (Brian) Braydon of Grand Bay-Westfield, Suzanne Graham of Grand Bay-Westfield, and Michelle (Larry) Mason also of Grand Bay-Westfield; grandchildren, Katelynn, Shayelin, Mason, Andrew, Jessica, Jevan, Austin, Matthew, Eva, Jorja, and Anthony. Eric will also be remembered by his sister Dorothy MacKay of Hardings Point, NB, as well as countless family and friends whom were blessed and privileged to know him. Eric was predeceased by his parents as well as his infant sister. Beyond his family, his favorite pastimes over the years involved music, playing guitar, singing with the Golden Echoes, darts, water skiing, boating, plowing, building inventions, and spending time with family and friends in his garage and at his beach.... adventures with Eric will be sorely missed! Eric was loved by many and was always there to lend a hand or fix a car when needed; he kept his sense of humor through to the end. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Wednesday May 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday May 12, from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday May 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the River Valley Wesleyan Church, 45 Ridge Way. The interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Woodman's Point. The family would like to thank the staff at the Palliative Care Ward, Saint John Regional Hospital and Extramural for the special care given to Eric. The family would also like to thank Pastor Dave McElhinney for the compassion he has shown us. Donations in Eric's memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.
