Obituary of Marie Dignard

Dignard, Marie Philomene (Landry) Passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born on November 05, 1922 at St. Louis De Kent. She was the daughter of the late Frederic and Rosanne (Chevarie) Landry. The wife of the late Albert Dignard. Being the oldest of fourteen children she spent her earlier years helping to raise her brothers and sisters. Her home was always a welcome place to stay for her many relatives and friends. The simple things gave her pleasure and she was polite and thankful for her many blessings. Marie was devout all her life. She will be sadly missed by her 4 sons, Robert (Denise), Leo, of British Columbia, Paul (Cathy) and John (Linda); 2 daughters, Lillian (Gilbert) Doucet and Irene (Neil) Kennedy; 1 brother, Aurele (Eugenie), of St. Louis De Kent; 5 sisters, Eliza (Rene) Richard, of Ontario, Roseline (Eloi) Bordage, of Aldouane, NB, Yvonne (Tilmon) Gray, of Nova Scotia, Ethel (Clarence) Surette, of Moncton, NB and Alice (Alfred) LeBlanc, of Bouctouche, NB; grandchildren, Lisa Merryweather (Jim), of Oakville, Ontario, Lianne Doucet (Mike), Tara, Trisha, Tiffany, Matthew and Justin; great-grandchildren, Halle and Kaythan and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Dianna, Edgar, Emile, Bertha, Albert, Alma, Gerard and Zoel. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701) visitation will take place on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. from Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Interment to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, following the service. There will be a reception at the Assumption Center following the interment. Donations, in memory of Marie, may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, Rocmaura Nursing Home or a charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to thank all the staff at Rocmaura Nursing Home for their loving care over the past 3 years.
